WRiTEON is a Cambridge-based group that stages rehearsed readings of new drama, enabling writers to develop their work and offering actors and directors opportunities to bring new material to life on stage for the first time. We also run workshops on writing, acting, directing and performance improvisation and hold a regular feedback group for scripts in progress.
First Stage is Back!
First Stage is back for a new season of short plays staged script-in-hand in January 2017 on Sundays 22nd and 29th. Please, note, we will be performing scripts in a different venue, The Boathouse (CB4 3AX) which has recently become the home of some of the most exciting new projects in Cambridge. You can find out more about the shows here. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets from Brownpapertickets:
This regular WRiTEON workshop will give you the chance to see your words brought to life by a team of experienced actors and directors. You’ll also get feedback and suggestions for further development of characters, plot, theme and other aspects of your play. More information can be found here.
It’s All Just a Little Bit of History… At Wimpole!
After the great success WRiTEON has had with our Capability and Beyond project, culminating in 9 new short plays staged at Wimpole on two nights last June, the National Trust have invited us back!
Our new project at Wimpole Estate will be focussing on writing plays inspired by history. Spaces for playwrights are now fully booked but you can find out more about the project here.
