WRiTEON is a Cambridge-based group that stages rehearsed readings of new drama, enabling writers to develop their work and offering actors and directors opportunities to bring new material to life on stage for the first time. We also run workshops on writing, acting, directing and performance improvisation and hold a regular feedback group for scripts in progress.
Capability and Beyond
WRiTEON’s latest project is an evening of short plays inspired by Capability Brown and NT property Wimpole Hall. The show will be performed at Wimpole Hall itself on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th June. The writers have taken their inspiration from various aspects of the material and using their unique writing styles created a varied, thoroughly-entertaining evening of theatre. More information can be found here.
This WRiTEON workshop will give you the chance to see your words brought to life by a team of experienced actors and directors. You’ll also get feedback and suggestions for further development of characters, plot, theme and other aspects of your play. You’ll need to submit your script by Saturday 9th July. More information can be found here.
We run improv courses throughout the year. Our next beginners and improvers classes start in April. More details here.
Our informal script feedback group is not meeting currently. Watch this space for news of how we plan to support writers with work in progress in future or email firstname.lastname@example.org to be kept informed.
