AGM Update
19 June, 7pm, CB2

The WRiTEON! committee was forced to postpone the 2007 AGM due to insufficient numbers of people to do the essential jobs without which WRiTEON! will cease to exist. The meeting has been rescheduled for 19 June, 7 pm at CB2 (basement).

The positions for which we currently do not have volunteers are Chairman of the committee, Treasurer, and Bookings/Venue Co-ordinator.

The Chairman prepares the agenda for each meeting and runs the meetings. He or she takes a leadership role with outside agencies (i.e in meetings, etc.) and, where possible, runs the feedback sessions at performances. He or she may also take a role in submitting funding applications. We need someone with excellent communication skills, who is happy to take on a leadership role and who is able to create and sustain a focussed, constructive atmosphere in meetings. The time commitment for this position is moderate. The committee meets approximately every two months, and the main additional time commitment is attending performances. However the feedback role can be delegated to other appropriate members as necessary.

The Treasurer maintains the WRiTEON! accounts and does our books, prepares a simple, yearly financial report, looks after and maintains the cashbox, and co-signs cheques. He or she also has a role in filling out funding applications. The voice of the treasurer is obviously influential in making planning decisions. It is possible that this position could be shared.

The Bookings/Venue Co-ordinator is a new position. Their job will be to make bookings at appropriate venues (mostly CB2) for rehearsals and performances. They will need to form a good relationship with CB2 staff, keeping them informed of changes. They may be asked to look over CB2 to ensure lights are working, floors are clean, etc, before performances. It would be helpful if this job-holder lived near to CB2. We would also be very interested in hearing from people with ideas for additional, alternative venues, as we need a larger space for Naked Stage productions.

If you are interested in any of the above positions, please contact Peter Daldorph (current Chairman) on peter.daldorphATntlworld.com (replace AT with @) as soon as possible, before the AGM. In the event of more than one person applying for a position, we will hold a secret ballot at the AGM to decide the election.
