This fun participatory acting workshop, led by WRiTEON’s chairperson, Julia Bolden, is suitable for actors, directors and writers, at all levels of experience.
It’s amazing how differently the same script can come across, just by changing the status of the characters in relation to one another. It’s not as cut and dried as it sounds – for example; a boss can be played low status and an employee high or a King can be low and a beggar high.
Julia has directed numerous staged readings for WRiTEON in several seasons of MaD and Naked Stage, as well as in the ad hoc productions; Table Talk, ANGLES and A Twist of Lemon, all of which she also produced. Prior to moving to Cambridge and discovering WRiTEON, she taught Drama at a Stage School for several years, worked as an Arts Editor and Theatre Reviewer for a local newspaper and directed several plays for adults and shows for children.
