PAVEMENT IS MY PILLOW
Pavement is my Pillow is a play written and devised by Sean Baker, Ian Osler, Richard Peoples, Trish Rawson and Kim Komljanec.
As part of the research for the project each of the writers met with homeless people in Cambridge and listened to their stories. It was performed at Cambridge Drama Festival on Wednesday 26th April.
Synopsis
Rob has lost his job and believes his wife is cheating on him. Carol recently came out of prison and used to be a man. Gerry is looking for work as a painter-decorator and has a daughter back in Ireland. Kasia came from Poland to work as a nurse. Martha has read more or less all of the books in her local library, but still feels confused. And Billy works for a bank and travels to Eastern Europe a lot. But none of them have a place to call home. How do people lose their home and who are the people we call homeless? And how do they make us feel?
