Richard McNally

Richard began his relationship with theatre with a passion for acting. In 2006 he worked with Ipswich-based professional theatre company, Red Rose Chain, acting in their ‘Theatre in the Forest’ production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Richard’s primary passion, however, is for directing and producing. On his gap year he ran “The Poppard Youth Theatre Group”, a company commissioned to write and perform plays at government conferences. He also ran the Loyal Shakespeare Company and       directed their sell-out critically acclaimed performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Since gradating from university with a degree in Drama he worked for three years as the assistant producer of professional theatre company Cambridge Touring Theatre.

As artistic director of Twisted Willow Theatre he has directed two plays at the Corpus Playroom, Seven Words for Love and critically-acclaimed Butterfly Effect. Richard also artistic directed WRiTEON’s 2015 First Stage Season and regularly directs in their Acting Up workshops.
